Not sure what type of job you want to look for or what occupations are a good match for your skills? Good news, we’ve done some research and found some websites that can help you learn about different occupations and assess your skills so that you can choose a new career with confidence.

Working in Canada – Is a great labour market information resource created by the Federal Government where you can learn about job specifications, employment trends, wages and salary information of hundreds of different occupations.

Ontario Job Futures – Another source of labour market information by the Government of Ontario.

NOC Classification – A resource put together by the Canadian Government that classifies and defines various occupations found in Canada. A great place to go if you want to learn about new careers or to find key words when writing your resume.

ONET Online – Occupation classification put together by the US department of labor. A lot of great information about different occupations great for exploring new careers or writing your own resume.

Apprenticesearch – A great place to learn about the skilled trades with profiles of different occupations. You can even do mini-quizzes to see if various trades are a good match for your skills and interests.

Careers in Trades – Another resource to help you learn more about the skilled trades.

WorkBC – The Govenrment of British Columbia has developed a fantastic website where you can learn about different careers and do self assessment tests to see what occupations are a good match for your skills and interests.

University of Toronto Self Assessment Package – An online self assessment questionnaire to help you learn more about your skills and interests to help you make career planning decisions
